Arlington Attendance Work Group

A new workgroup has formed to support student attendance at Pittsburgh Arlington PreK-8! The Arlington Attendance Work Group consists of school staff, community partners and local leaders who are working together to identify ways to support students and families. Students who maintain positive attendance at school are much more likely to excel socially and academically.

Meet the Arlington Attendance Work Group:

A+ Schools At A+ Schools, we envision a Pittsburgh where every child gets what they need in school to be successful in college, career, and life. And we know that can’t happen unless we work together to elevate the voices of our city’s parents, students and teachers to catalyze change, and offer our resources for anyone who is working for equity and justice within the Pittsburgh public school district.

Brashear Association The Brashear Association provides South Pittsburgh residents and community groups with access to quality programs and services that address social, education, health, and economic issues. Programming includes Youth programming, Food, Employment & Utility Assistance.

City of Pittsburgh Safe Routes to Schools The City of Pittsburgh Safe Routes to School Program’s mission is to increase the number of students biking and walking to school through education, encouragement, and safety improvements.

Pittsburgh Arlington's mission is to help all students SOAR to their highest potential. Part of achieving this mission is working with our community partners to ensure that every student and family has access to the resources and support they need to be successful in school and in life.

What's your #ExcuseToGo?

Chronic absenteeism means missing 10% or more of school days for any reason, excused, unexcused, or suspensions. It’s just 2 days a month, which might not sound like much, but the impact on your grades, test scores and future can be huge.
