Outdoor Learning

A summer without bounds with AJAPO, Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs, and P.O.O.R.L.A.W.

Fresh air inspired academic wonder and emotional joy for students taking part in summer camps from AJAPO (Acculturation for Justice, Access and Peace Outreach), Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs, and P.O.O.R.L.A.W. (People of Origin Rightfully Loved and Wanted). Over eight weeks, AJAPO’s diverse student body built social-emotional wellbeing through play, yoga, and STEAM-based crafts, while learners at the Mooncrest Summer Mix dug into a curriculum-backed garden, fitness activities, and games, among other indoor learning. Students attending P.O.O.R.L.A.W.'s summer camp, newly expanded from its after-school program, made learning physical on the gridiron and with the dance troupe.
